Sport and Society. Open Talk

First online international conference on social sport development

(en) Текст новости

The Vladimir Potanin Foundation will hold an international online conference 6-7 April.

At the present moment social sport is not regulated or specifically developed any official body in Russia, and representatives of NGOs, HEIs, sports federations, who implement programs in sport, physical education, healthy lifestyle, education and social protection, do not have a common platform to communicate and share experience.

“We believe that sport is an essential tool for making an impact and rising people’s living standards, it has a huge potential,  – notes Oksana Oracheva, the General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation. – On the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, we would like to invite for a discussion everyone interested in exploring how sport influences our values, what social effects accompany a sport project and how sport technologies can be applied in NGO work.

In 2020 we launched a new charitable program “Power of Sport” to increase the number of positive changes.  But the questions that arose during the program development do not have definite answers.  That is why we hope to initiate a dialogue between leading Russian and international practitioners of the non-profit sector”.
